The Principle Of Priority

It always interests me when people where ‘busy’ as a badge of honour, excusing a lack of output on time, when it’s really a matter of priority.

I should know, because, I was the biggest proponent of using the language myself.⠀

I was ALWAYS too busy for anything...

Funny how what frustrates us the most is typically a mirror of our own fall downs and insecurities.

A big goal for me this year was to shift my language from that of ‘busy’ to that of ‘priority’

I always relate back to the ‘’Principle of Priority” - (a) knowing the difference between what is urgent and what is important, and (b) doing what’s important first.

I ran a little experiment a few weeks ago, I doubled my content output and my activity levels were off the charts...

I broke through my preconceived limits with setting appointments and onboarding new clients - by all means, it was a huge success.

During the last week, I didn’t release any content - I used the busy excuse, but truthfully I didn’t prioritise it.

Halfway through, I decided to leave it for the rest of the week and I wanted to see what impact it would have on my key metrics [being new enquiries, and appointments set].

There has been only a small decline this week [10% - which will no doubt get filled as the week continues], the following week is down about 25%, but the week after is down 40% (based on what is usually booked at this time).

It takes about three hours for me to write my content for the week, and that pays an extremely high dividends

So, while it is never ‘urgent’ in terms of anyone being on my back about it, it’s demonstrated it’s importance, time and time again.

I can be consistent, prioritise, and get incrementally better...

Or I can get comfortable, dismissive, and get incrementally worse.

What are the Highly Leveraged Activities that you must commit to every week?
